Amazon.com: Children's Books
Here
you will find children's books for sale, but this is a great place
to do research as well. Many books include editorial reviews as
well as reader's opinions and ratings.
Barnes and Noble:
Kids
is also a bookseller, but it's also a handy place to research
children's books. Editorial reviews and readers' ratings are
included for some of the books.
Book Hive is a place to find
hundreds of summaries of children's books organized by category
(Beginning Chapter Books, Concept, etc.). Readers' comments
(mostly from children) appear in some of the summaries. This site
is developed by a team of children's librarians and specialists.
About.com
Guide to Children's Books pulls together links, articles,
award lists, and more. It's a handy resource for those wanting to
research children's literature.
The
Boston Book Review Children's Corner contains some
well-written reviews of kids' books.
The
Horn Book magazine's web site has some sample reviews from
this revered publication.
Parent
Council Reviews is an independent review organization that
rounds up what they deem to be the best children's books, and
features four channels: for librarians, home schools, teachers,
and parents.
BookList
magazine's web site features sample reviews from their
publication. Rates books, and includes both lower rated books as
well as highly recommended ones. Click on the link "Books for
Youth" for children's book reviews.
Carol
Hurst's Children's Literature Site features monthly
newsletters, reviews and suggestions, featured authors, and more.
The
Midwest Book Review is an excellent source for reviews of
books, including children's.
