"Anything
can happen in a special world...in the Wiggles world."
The
Wiggles, a group from Australia, are charming preschoolers
everywhere. This boy band for the preschool crowd wiggle and dance
their way into children's hearts on their new video, Wiggly,
Wiggly World!
Greg, Murray,
Jeff, and Anthony each wear a different color shirt and put on a
dance show like no other. This 46-minute video features more
than a dozen song-videos featuring the group as well as children
and characters in costume--Wags the Dog, Dorothy Dinosaur, the
Captain (who tickles everyone with his colorful feather), and
Henry the Octopus. Children help demonstrate the actions that
accompany the songs, and inspire viewers to do them too!
A special
"mate", Slim Dusty, guest stars with a country ditty
called "I Love to Dance With Dorothy"; Christine Anu
also makes an appearance with a special song, "Taba Naba";
and Atsuko Arai, from Japan, sings "Haru Ga Kita". The special guests
help add an international flavor to the video.
The Wiggles
take a ride in a "big, red car" through the countryside,
where they meet up with a scarecrow, cow, and kangaroo (all people
in costume). They do a wonderful rendition (Wiggles-style) of
"Six Months in a Leaky Boat" along with Tim Finn, and
explore animal sounds in "One Little Coyote".
Pros:
- Infectious fun and
dance.
- Engaging video that
inspires children to sing, act, and dance along.
|
Cons:
- Fun, but not as
educational as many videos designed for preschoolers.
