Pick This
amusing program is an exceptional example of edutainment software,
though it swings a little to the side of entertainment. Logical
thinking is required in order to solve the numerous puzzles in
this title, all of which revolve around Lionel trains. Sierra has
plunked a popular toy – an electric train set – into a whole
array of locations, from the expected (the living room floor) to
the bizarre (Purple Moon station). While kids can have fun laying
track in the freeform area of the program, the program’s puzzles
present the most exciting challenges for the most. Kids (and
adults) work their way up the ranks by completing tasks in
fanciful worlds with pre-laid tracks. They deliver loads, solve
problems, and often must do all these things within a certain time
frame. There’s a wonderful mix of unusual elements thrown in
with the commonplace.
This
program captivates testers for hours on end. Remarkable for its
variety in terms of both challenge level and style of puzzles,
Traintown Deluxe is perfect for those with an observant eye and a
love of good fun. If you own the original version, this deluxe
package may not be worth buying, but those who have never
experienced this exciting and pleasantly addictive program should
go for this deluxe program.
Pros:
- Plenty of things to do.
- A wide range of
difficulty levels.
- Exercises logical
thinking skills.
|
Cons:

challenging.
